The Chelmsford Games Club

If you live or work in or near Chelmsford, Essex, England and play board games (of all sorts, modern European and American or other "gamer's games" in particular) then we'd like to see you at

The Chelmsford Games Club

EVERY Tuesday

The Queen's Head

Lower Anchor Street

Chelmsford

7:00 or 8:00, Finish at Closing Time

7 o'clock or 8 o'clock? At the moment some of us are usually there at 7 o'clock and start something then. But we try to ensure that anyone who arrives at 8 o'clock gets a game. But to be sure, if coming for the first time, drop me a line and we'll make doubly sure of that.

FREE!

A map of where to find us can be found here. (Use the features of the site to move around or zoom in or out.)

Just turn up; bring some games if you've got anything you particularly want to play. If not, there will be other people with games there.

Sometimes (although we are between projects right now) we do more than just play published games. And now we have some recognition! From the credits of the recently published Ra the Dice Game:

Reiner Knizia would like to express his gratitude to Jonty Blackwell, Chris Dearlove and Lee Edwards for their significant contributions to the development of this game. Many thanks to all playtesters, in particular Kevin Jacklin, Paul Smith, Graeme Tate and the Chelmsford Games Club.

We also have a fifth one day event, a joint venture of the Sorcon Society and the Chelmsford Games Club with support from the Essex Warriors:

Essex Games Day

Sunday 15th July 2012

Writtle Village Hall

10.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.

£5 on the door

You can find the Writtle village hall in Writtle, just west of Chelmsford, just off the green (by the duck pond). There's free parking the other side of the green (at the same end). For location see here.

The sixth annual SoRCon (Son of RamsdenCon) games convention will be 1st to 3rd March 2013 at the Ramada Hotel, Colchester, Essex, UK. For details see the SoRCon website http://www.sorcon.co.uk/. You can also sign up to the sorcon mailing list at http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/sorcon/, or to the Facebook group SoRCon, for information, including announcement of the event, and for Essex Games Days.

If you play other sorts of games (figure wargaming, collectable card games, whatever) then so do various other club members, including at other local clubs, which include:
